Greenwood conservation area is located in Ajax, Ontario. It consists of roughly around 38 kilometres of trails, including the 6 km trail along the waterfront and two leash-free spaces for dogs.

It is one of the best places to hike in the Durham region in all seasons. I have been there numerous times to this conservation area, pretty much all year round, for hiking and photography. There are multiple small trails that you can explore.

Travel Advice

Why go to Greenwood Conservation Area?

If you are someone who live closer to Durham and would like to do some outdoor activity with a family, friends or kids, it is a great place to visit.

Is it worth a visit?

Again if you are in a neighbourhood such as Toronto or Durham Region, then it is a great place to visit. However, if you are coming from another country or province, this conservation park does not have any special features that may interest you. Obviously, if you are a nature lover, then you understand even a little bit of green space can give you that uplifting feeling. Each angle of the park looks pretty and if you are a photographer you would like to capture pine trees and winding paths.

Estimated time

Depending on the activity and how much stamina you have, you can spend 2 -5 hours here.
